Our Mission

Grow Hope. Cultivate Change.

Why We’re Here

The Porch Swing Collective was born from the belief that even in uncertain times, growth is always possible.
I created this work after years of learning how to rebuild from the ground up — literally and emotionally. Gardening, food preservation, and preparedness became the tools that helped me heal, and the foundation for a way of living that feels steadier, kinder, and more connected.

We live in a world that often tells us to fear what’s coming next. I believe the antidote is to learn, share, and grow together. Deep Roots Collective exists to help people feel capable again — to turn fear into knowledge, and knowledge into hope.

Our Mission

To help people grow hope, cultivate resilience, and rebuild connection
to the earth, to their food, and to each other.

Through workshops, education, and community, we teach practical skills for sustainable living — gardening, food preservation, and preparedness — while nurturing the grounded confidence that comes from knowing you can provide, adapt, and thrive.

What We Value:

People

We believe everyone deserves access to the knowledge and skills that build security and confidence. Our approach is inclusive, gentle, and rooted in lived experience — no perfection required.

Planet

We honor the earth by teaching regenerative and organic practices that support biodiversity, soil health, and long-term sustainability. The way we grow food can heal the land and our relationship to it.

Purpose

We’re not just growing gardens; we’re growing communities.
The Porch Swing Collective is built on the idea that connection — sharing knowledge, trading resources, showing up for one another — is what real resilience looks like.

Peace

Preparedness should never be rooted in fear. We teach calm, compassionate readiness that brings comfort, safety, and dignity. Peace of mind is something you can grow, too.

Deep Roots Collective is a Triple Bottom Line business, guided by the belief that success means nourishing people, caring for the planet, and strengthening community — not just turning a profit.

A Note from Amber

The Porch Swing Collective began as my way of healing, and it’s grown into something much bigger — a place for anyone who wants to live with purpose, preparedness, and joy.

If you’ve ever wanted to eat food you grew yourself, find calm in the garden, or just feel a little more capable in an uncertain world — you belong here.

Welcome to The Porch Swing Collective.
Let’s grow something better, together.
